Get Away

Get Away

A Poem by Kaitlyn

I can sit and ponder.

I can sit and think.

I can sit and try to remember…

Remember the good,

The bad,

The unbelievable,

The unnatural,

But what if I don’t want to sit?

What if I want to stand?

What if I want to forget?

What if I want to run?

Get out of here before it’s too late.

I can get away from these pointless flashbacks

I can get away from this repeated heartbreak.

I can get away from you forcing things upon me.

I can get away from the constant abuse.

This constant crying,
this constant  confusion.

What can I say?

I just know

I can get away.
