A Death For an Addiction

A Death For an Addiction

A Poem by Kala Benfield
"

Watch your self kiddies !

"
Smoke exhausts from your mouth,
leaving it seeping
beautifully.
Your eyes float on top
of the horizon of the
moon and the stars.

Feeling free.
Feeling weightless.
Leaving your anxiety behind you.

Fall into a haze.
Fogging over.
You become blind;
oblivious to the
outside world.

You'll hold conversations
with yourself,
stating the obvious,
and recording unimportant data.
Losing information slowly.
As your brain cells leave you,
she also leaves.

You can hear the angels.
So up, your there just enough
to hear a whisper.

It starts to wear off.

You'll start running,
you cant breathe.
Your words and ambitions
will drown you.

You'll stop to think
of why your worlds
a cyclone.
Your head will
feel a collapse.
A valid pain.
Taunting your patterns
in the process.

Your since of ability
is dead.
Along with your addiction.

Your lungs will collapse,
or you'll drown in your
own misery and
misconception.
