Diving

Diving

A Poem by Gabrielle

The searchlight is looking

For the answers to our prayers and riddles

To the man on the side of the tracks

without a direction and has nowhere to go

To make a distinction of who you are

Or who you were, and where you wanted to be

Is like staring at a blank wall and thinking

Is that who I was, is that really me?

No one chokes so many words down

So many reasons as well as we do

Because every other thought just seems like

Another reason to dive right through.

I want to dive right through

But there's too much time

I want to feel finished but I am running

Out of my mind, and three is a lucky number.

But, everyone wants to be free

So instead of counting on them

I guess I will have to count

On me.
