She Is, I Am

She Is, I Am

A Poem by Kallin
"

My insecurities in a nutshell.

"
She is smart and pretty, and confident in all that she can be
She's strong and proud, more than you or me.
She will never cry, and will fight until the end
She is truly happy, and will never have to pretend.
She is real; realer than the grass, or realer than the sky
Her joy is infectious, and her light will never die.
Her reflection will smile back, and it doesn't have to lie
She can be herself, and she doesn't have to try.
The best thing about her is that she is only yours;
She could be the end to all the bad and all the wars.
She is amazing, and she is true
But the best thing about her is that she loves you.

I am cold and unattractive, and I have built up a brick wall
I trip and I crash and I burn and I fall
I cry all the time, over the smallest little things
My sanity and my love; hangs on but a single string.
I've built up a protection, a thousand knights to guard my heart
If you come near, they'll attack you; because I'm too scared to be torn apart.
I'm shy and I don't talk, and I can never look people in the eye
If you try to say hello, I'll just whisper back goodbye.
I try my best every day to be happy and to hide my pain
But I'm just the king of an army, but over no one will I reign.
I love you, I like you, are things I cannot say
Because the human part of me is diminishing every day.

I know I'm no good like this, and I know I need to change
But I don't see a point in becoming something strange
She is the person that I would wish to be,
But for now, I guess I'm stuck with just being me.
