In the Darkness of Night

In the Darkness of Night

A Poem by Estelle
"

It is in the cover of night, I weep for what I have lost.

"
It is in the darkness of night
I hold onto the memories of old
When fear grasps ahold of me and the cold
Chills my bones
It is when I draw upon
The bright, happy memories
That keep me sane in the darkness of night
The laughter, the joy, the love
That held us together, once strong
But now, a faint, distant memory
It is in the darkness of night
I weep for you and what I have lost
A bond once stronger than steel
Now hanging by the threads, lingering painfully
It is in the darkness of night I wish
For Death to take me as it took
You from my arms, stole you
From my warm embrace
It is in the darkness of night
I curse my living, breathing soul
