Yesterday

A Poem by Master K-tops

IN THIS TOWN
Yesterday was just like every other day,
The bombs sang,
And body parts spread far apart to give room to dance
Our sisters' twin legs were surgically separated
By biological rifles of aphrodisiac butchers
Our houses and things went to heaven,
Yes they went to heaven,
Holy fire burnt them down
And, as smoke, they went up - skywards- to heaven
We exercised - too much food sat in our hungry bellies,
From our homes to unknown places, we exercised
When we heard guns asking us to run, we exercised.

Yesterday was just like every other day for us:
Seeing legs tearing off to dance,
Surgery performed in open streets,
Non-living things reaching paradise,
Unwilling exercise.
