Chili After Dark

Chili After Dark

A Poem by Karasu Tengu
"

An experimental journey to nowhere

"
Lightning bolts from my a*s
burning a large hole in the bottom of my lizard chair which extends
    Into infinity
Or so it seems, deep into the earth anyway, but
I think I see light on the other side?

I drop a beer bottle down.
    Nothing.
Not even a thank you.
course it was empty.

What can a person do
with a hole in the floor to the
    center of the earth?

That's got to be up there
with the great existential questions
and I hear they're all connected
If you get the answer to one, you win 'em all

But still.
Seriously. You tell me. Or don't.
You'd probably youtube yourself dropping a big mac
Attached to a 5 yard thick ball of twine.
Lotta help. Thanks.

So I told myself ---who is
skeptical as all hell to begin with
    of anything I say,
I said,
Dude! cause that's how we roll.
I said,
Dude!
Anymore interruptions?
Dude! This hole is metaphysical. That means we can do something
I dunno, metaphysical ---like jump down it. Do eet.
We may hit middle earth!
    The royal we.
But he was not impressed.

Evidently though
A cockroach on the other side made a similar discovery without the schizophrenia
    And now he was here.
So there was that.
Which we thought, was good enough, because
this was no ordinary cockroach.
    nope. Not even close.
