Ever...

Ever...

A Poem by Kat Collins

Quietly seeping

my insides leak out.

Sadness has become my demeanor.

Joy is tainted by sorrow,

bittersweet kisses.

My journey is changing course,

scarred by pain and emotion.

I look at where I've been...

how did I make it through?

Always searching for the chosen road,

sometimes losing sight.

I wander off into the thick woods

distracted by fairy twinkles.

Only then do I realize,

as I've played in their streams...

I've lost my way.

So I choose another avenue to bring me back to You.

Ever my longing.

Ever my purpose.

Hold on to me and don't let go.

Don't let me lose my way.

I tend to daydream in the clouds

twittering with the bluebirds.

Floating and drifting,

sometimes marching to a different tune.

But always You.

Ever my purpose.

Ever my sweet desire.
