Dream Softly

Dream Softly

A Poem by Kat Collins
"

A tribute to an old, long-ago friend....Ssgt Talon...

"
cool, transparent beams of pale moonlight pours through the open window
a gentle, warm breeze, carrying wafts of salty, crystal oceans
stars twinkling in the inky, darkened sky, filling the black void with little pinpricks of light
dreams float in the moonlight
wishes, hopes
fears, pain
all released into the empty night
absorbed by the blackness
swallowing the dreams whole
sighs of dreamers, whispered upon relaxed lips
cries from others, mouths contorted in anguish
all searching for the same thing, trying to attain identical goals
release, answers, wishes made true, anguish and fears banished
their deepest desires, their darkest wishes, their strongest hopes
some longing for love, acceptance, belonging
others longing for escape, security, safety
go gently into the night
for dreams are not always what they seem to be
dream softly....
