Angelene

Angelene

A Poem by Kate Henderson

Blue haired Phoenix
Rises from the deep
Darkened Sapphire
From the rainbow tower
Perched on the edge
Of Morpheus death
Sound of a hawk
Fills the transparent air
As she rises from the lair
Sparkling azure
From the turquoise sea
Lies in wait
Transformative beast
Looks on from the east
Illumined blue
Dark as night
Glowing with dexterity
Hair like blue wings
Suddenly her face appears
It is Angelene
The Water Queen

Authors Note: Inspired by Lori Earley's painting 'Angelene'
