Wedding Bells

Wedding Bells

A Poem by Kate Ruta

The night was icy but I didn’t mind.

We felt dreary and dismal in

The darkness of the night.

To hear the mellow wedding bells.

The bells in the icy distance.

On a rainy night, offers me a fiery spark

That we can hold together and dream.

The smell of the icy air in the darkness of the night.

Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness.

I have stood still and stopped to hear the sound.

Hearing the bells dinging lightly in the distance.

Warmed by the sound of the bells, the love

To live for the loving touch, to yearn-

Yearn for the beauty of those sounds.

I find it hard to get from line three to four. Is there a relationship between the night('s darkness) and the (mellow) wedding bells?

The use of icy is also interesting. I wonder whether it would have more impact if you make sure to use it in every stanza.
