Battle Cry

Battle Cry

A Poem by Katelyn Barker

Rising from the ground,
Battle all around,
You run,
The war has begun
legs of lightning speed,
running free,
the bonds are gone,
you’ve made it to the outside,
the gate is open,
people are hurting
but you are too far away to care who will stay,
the village ahead,
the people of the mist,
come to hear about the guns with the lead.
and now they are scared,
houses being shared,
they hide.
Willing they are not,
to let you inside.
Then you hear the battle cry,
rising with the wind,
to fill the sky.
The battle is done,
the war is won.
