Am I Beautiful Now?

Am I Beautiful Now?

A Poem by Katelyn Barker

Am I beautiful now,
while I'm apart from the crowd?
Or am I just another face?
Do I make you run away,
or do I make your heart race?
Could there be another world,
where I was the only one,
and where my life was never done.
Could I be a person some day,
maybe in some other place,
where we would sway together.
Forever.
It will never happen.
You lie like an assassin,
ready for the move of the kill.
Our spirits ripping from each other,
never loving,
one another.
