Passing On

Passing On

A Poem by Silver_water_dragon

Have you ever seem someone pass on?

Watched as they withered?

Have you ever seen the last few breathes taken?

Try getting the image out of your mind

Have you ever seen such beautiful eyes open so widely without seeing?

Stepping into Heaven without us

Have you ever tried to be strong and not be sad?

Look forward to an eternal life

Life traveled to Heaven and left a body behind in the room where I stood

Tears and shock..

Urge to run away, but dad grabbed me in his arms,

My faithful daddy said, "you got to be strong now."

I walked outside...

You were no longer in the earthly body

Could not look at the lifeless shell

I felt a chilly wind and the sun's warmth on my face

I imagined the sun's warmth being a kiss from a great mother

And the wind I imagined being a hug in the best way a spirit could

I hope you visit my dreams

Concern for the amazing husband you left behind

He is stronger than us all

You were his whole life..thirty years.

I will do my best to take care of our family.

I hope you watch proudly

I hope you smile down on me

I love you so much

Not sure how to feel

Or how to adjust

As if I must learn to walk again

But without your hand in mine
