Characters from a story I am working on inspired me to write this one.

Oh, I see how you slip and stumble

Determined you can make it through

Even in this darkness

This darkness that you try to overlook

 

Can I be the light in your sky?

So brilliantly- So lovely

I'd chase away your darkness

If only you would allow it

 

I reach for you

Choosing not to see

You pick yourself up, with no help

So like you, to push away

 

Can I be the light in your sky?

So brilliant- So lovely- Forever for you

I'd drown out your darkness with one flicker

If you would only say you need me

 

Too stubborn to see

This is too much of a burden

Can't carry this forever

Can't you see it's weighing on you?

Push and run as you can

The darkness still looms

 

Let me be the light to guide you

-So brilliant

I would shine for you

-Be a light so brilliant

Speak the words to me

So lovely

-From lips so lovely

-Forever my love is for you
