Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound

A Poem by Kat Mandu

The boy ran as shadows began to fade
And disappeared within the shade;
The spirit left,
The boy stood still,
Then knelt at where his father slept;
And there alone he lay and wept.

Illuminated by the moon,
The shadows disappeared too soon,
A boy lay still,
Eyes wide and blank,
As another shadow formed alone
And began to follow his father home.
