My Life (1994)

My Life (1994)

A Poem by Katseye

My Life

My life is like a hollow box,

It was ment to be filled.

But like some boxes,

My life remains empty.

Like the empty box,

My life is unstable.

I try to stand;

The wind blows me down.

I stand again;

The weight crushes me.

I've tried to fill my box;

But the hand of fate,

And the hand of man:

Reaches in and steals it all away.

Like a thief who steals,

Your most precious belongings.

Leaving only memories,

Of what you once had.

Maybe a few trinkets left behind.

Give them time though,

They'll find a way to take it all.

Until the light of hope dims,

And fades away.
