The Cat

The Cat

A Poem by Katsura
"

From a two noun prompt: cat and Ottawa

"
A cat went down to Ottawa,
searching for his way back home.
He found a dog to lead him there,
But his luck soon ran out.

The cat went out towards Wichita,
With a bird to call his guide.
His home was neither here nor there,
And soon he started to doubt.

The cat just wanted to be with his ma,
But now he was all alone.
The cat could not find again,
The place he once called home.

Weak and weary the cat trudged on,
Seeking warmth where the wild snow fell.
'Twas then when the cat received his wings,
As Mother Nature rang her bell.

Up and up and up he soared,
Feeling a voice calling him near.
His mom awaited him in Heaven,
At last, he thought, home is here.
