The Eyes

My first ever two sentence horror story. The eyes are a delicate thing, so the idea of someone poking or prodding at someone else's eyes tend to make people cringe. So, here goes nothing.

Stopping in the middle of making lunch in my apartment, I realize that I don't have my contacts in. 

Who could've taken them out, I wonder, since I clearly remember falling asleep with them on?

You do have talent, dear writer. First, I must say that I like these two sentences. They flow and quickly create images.
As I read your story it seemed funny (funny - good, not funny - strange). You strive for horror and unleash comedy, you may be a comedy writer inside. In my opinion, comedy writers are more valuable than horror writers, though both are worth their weight in cash. When we come to the end of our work week and we are worn down, what do we want? We want someone to make us laugh. Between movies and situation comedies and stand-up comedians you could have a gold mine in your mind.
On the other hand, it is your first ever two-sentence horror story. It is not easy to terrify in two sentences.
