Burn

Burn

A Poem by DarkStar

It burnt and blistered skin,
So I should be mad.
It hurts like a b***h, I tell you,
But I'm struggling to be sad.

I could do without the pain, I suppose,
But its keeping me awake.
It was an accident I promise,
But just not quite a mistake.

The shock left me quick.
The pain did stay a while.
Through panicked breath, a shamefully admit,
I struggled not to smile.

The after care is horrid,
A part I'd like to never have again.
But writing has become a lot easier,
Since this burn has become my friend.

Damn, I can SO RELATE to those last two lines...
"But writing has become a lot easier,
Since this burn has become my friend."

Once the pain is accepted and turned around into something of a muse, things become so much better. :)
Thanks for sharing this piece. Cheers!
