Relapsed

Relapsed

A Poem by Keela
"

the experience of falling in love, and then loss, and turning to substance. Closure doesn't always look the way you imagine, but growth always occurs.

"

Faked. Goodbyes.

Lying lips. Soft kisses.

Shifty eyes.

I Cant see straight--

Betrayed.

Shattered. Glass

Red wine. White walls

Glassy eyes.

I Can’t see straight --

Drunk.

Bruised. Arms

Broken dreams. Bad drugs.

Puffy eyes.

I Cant see straight --

Crying

Unpacked. Cigarettes.

Hands shake. Blank stares.

Bloodshot eyes.

I Can’t see straight--

Lost.

Steamed. Tea

Cozy blanket. Extreme darkness.

Closed eyes.

I Can’t see straight--

Asleep.

Cleared. Spirit

Spring morning. Soft melodies.

Rested Eyes.

I Can see straight--

Renewed.

The journey from a heart broken to a heart made whole is such a complicated one, but you've made it so tangible here. The writing style, with abrupt stops and repeated lines, gives an original take to a popular subject. This is really great. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Keep on writing, Keela! :)

Hey Keela, your poem could have been titled "Can't see straight "too but the writing style is very abrupt.....you leave the words to make the poem themselves.... Good work
