Mask

Mask

A Poem by Kejo

This mask you wear

Of smiles and lies

Weaves a beautiful tale

Slight of hand

Slight of mind

Shadow your eyes

Hide your lies in truth

Laugh, to hide your tears

Giggle away your rage

Silence those thoughts

Don’t tell

Carefully constructed

Fragile as glass

This mask you wear

Picture perfect

Privileged

Perfect makeup

Perfect disguise

Hide your pimples

Hide your flaws

Hide the bruises

Beneath it all

Bangles and bracelets

In the latest style

Hide the scars

Not meant to be there

Perfect jeans

Perfect hair

Picture perfect

This mask you wear
