It Was A Gift

It Was A Gift

A Poem by Kellee

twisted soul, broken and bleeding
you are at fault, my mind keeps repeating
scattered thoughts, shattered dreams
silent echoes of a heart that screams

bruised and battered
left here to die
tears running down my face
as my heart screams, "why?"

the sun no longer shines
the clouds are here to stay
the rain has turned to wine
as i struggle to find another way

softest lips, bluest eyes
sweetest touch, my heart cries
missing you, wanting you
crying for a love that's true

my soul is empty, my mind is numb
my heart is pounding, i will succumb
it was the truest, purest love
can't you see? it was a gift from above
