Forever etched

Forever etched

A Poem by Kelseyrae

In a field of concrete,

The damp grass,

Cold on her bare feet,

She looked around,

Then fell to the ground,

Her heart ached,

As she read the name,

His name etched into the grave,

She closed her eyes,

Tears dripped down her face,

As she went back to the place,

In her mind,

Back to a time,

Where she was in his arms,

When her heartbeat,

Was a hummingbirds song,

The warmth of her heart,

Was the warmth of the sun,

Her mind came back to the field,

The cold field of concrete,

As she looked at his name,

She found what she knew,

From the very start,

He was forever,

Etched into her heart.
