He walks home almost every night

Instead of asking for rides

There's no one there when he gets home

But he still knows he's not alone

 

His momma tried her hardest to change

But it didn't work out the way she arranged

One day he walked home from school

and she was taken away from him

It wasn't fair

And of all the bad timing

The police didn't care

how old he was, or if he was dying

"Set me free" he cried

Honestly, I don't know why

this had to happen to someone like him

But he still keeps his faith

And I'm so amazed

She never wants to go anywhere

She sits at home after school in the dark, full of despair

She's been having to watch him forget her

But she knows it'll be over before it gets worse

all her friends smiling

while she was crying

this had to sneak up on her family
