Rise, And Give No MercyA Poem by Ken e Bujold"inspired by a reading of W.S. Merwin's Blind William's Song"Rise from the attic where you were tossed and callously forgotten, take flight from the feverish mind, and give no mercy.
Take flight, take flight, take flight. Beat back down the mighty giants of derision, titans triumphing an age,
those capricious captains who all but erased our first freed memory of a free born nation.
Take flight, take flight, take flight, rise from the ashes and smite the wicked ways the swine have lived to wallow in.
Take flight, take flight, take flight, soar above their cities, take what we've become and burn the Sodoms to the timberline.
Gomorrah our false idols, treasured prophets, trinkets of an unearned compunction for sins we cannot be forgiven.
Take flight, bring light to the blinded eyes used to scan for nothing save what I's can take from wanting schemes masquerading dreams.
Take flight, take flight, take flight. Rise, rescue and remake your fetid nation...rise, rise take flight, take flight, take flight...
