For life as we know it

For life as we know it

A Poem by Kenneth Nicholas Lowe

Songs for the hearts, poetry for the soul
Movies for the eyes, brandy for the cold
Dance for the passion, sing for the spirit
Sports for the challenge, games for the merit
Conversation for the thoughts, Books for the mind
Travel for the youth and Rest after your prime
Food for the senses, drugs for the fix
Drink for the romances, Cigarette for the kick
Love for the heart, hate for the hands
Celebration for the good, bereavement for the damned

It has a lyrical quality and the diction is good..cigarettes for the kick??? Huhh.i don't think so.You could have used some other word instead of it.Still a good philosophical write.
