The Parade

The Parade

A Poem by Kenneth Nicholas Lowe

Come one, come all.
Stare down at us as we fall.
Oh! Won't you stay for the show??
We're putting on quite an act, you know.

Mascara coated eyes,
Glaring at the bleeding skies
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
Watch silently as the fire twirls

Silence, then a drum roll please
Watch those crawling with disease,

Skulls and broken skin.
The living dead, won't you join in?

Can you hear the music play?
Its twisted like the games we play.
I'll tell you a secret, but do not shout
Once your in you can never get out.

Ha ha ha you're trapped inside
There is no where that you can hide
So shut those pretty lips, drink your glass of blood in small sips.

Cobwebs cover your hair
Giggles and screams will fill the air.
The song of death it has been sung!
But this night has only just begun..

your welcome
Great imagery and timing is good. The poem's voice came across as mischievous and detached. The word "small" before the word "sip" caused a noticeable timing interrupt for me. Overall it is a good poem that I enjoyed reading.

Awwww. :-)
That's sweet. She shouldn't be shy.
It's a good poem conjures up some cool images.
I'm thinking of the black parade by my chemical romance.
It has a lyrical flow...

Tell her from me it is great, i was pulled in; I love it all. Sounds like Hotel California. HA - I love it. I just recently used the words "twisted games" in a poem, there are so many you know, this one brings back the feeling of childhood at the fair/circus. Thank you and thank her.
