Must have been feeling at odds with the world....

Did anyone see the bird who had the answer,

before he was brought down by poisonous power,

fists of iron and paper so sour,

burned and buried as another chancer,

 

did anyone hear the river that knew,

before she was dammed and brought to kneel,

by minds that could not allow her to steal,

the secrets of the privileges of the few,

 

did anyone feel the wind that sought,

before it was blocked and denied passage,

by regimes so ruthless and clearly savage,

the rights of the masses which had been bought,

 

did anyone notice the man who cared,

for the wind, the bird and the river too,

for he was a man who surely knew,

of problems halved being problems shared
