the return, again

the return, again

A Poem by Kett

i succumbed to something much larger than my own

what it should, or shall be which was far beyond what i understood

far reaching where my hands could be

further out from me.

i waited a frightful hour

i never thought you would abandon me as you did

perhaps you had your reasons…..

was it when i piled in my car and you watched me drive away,

my words..they were, “this isn’t working”

wasn’t meant to pull you from me….

why did you leave.

You took what wasn’t yours,

Perhaps a piece of me you wanted…

The paintings made, all stolen in a steaming past I have left

I will not return again,

I am home

I am where I was meant to be

Alone.

I have succumbed to something much larger than my own.
