The “love” is only one sided

And the rare times you get to see this boy

You'll make your life revolve around it

You'll change your outfit 20 times

Just so he’ll say something to fill you with joy

You’ll feel like you’re always high

On love and romance it's great

He seems to be the perfect one

But remember, he’s still a guy

It's not "love" that is the problem but the "idea" of love many harbor. I tell my seven year old daughter all the time what love is and she has this committed to memory, Love is hard work, responsibility and sacrifice. It isn't hugs and kisses or passing love notes or candy or flowers or a fat baby cherub with a bow and arrow shooting folks in the backside while they're not looking. Show me ONE person who EVER said, I'd like to "fall in" some hard work, responsibility and sacrifice. If you can, I'll show you an idiot. Love isn't a trade either. It's never I'll love you IF. Love places others above self and puts their happiness first. Boys. Boys just have sex and sports on their minds most of the time without a preference to one over the other. But we can measure love by sacrifice and what others give up for us or what we are willing to give up for them. The sacrifice will take hard work and the responsibility for someone else's happiness follows. But boys know nothing of any of that. That's what separates them from men.

Thank you so much for this review. Love is a complicated thing but I think you explained the ins and outs of it perfectly. I think remembering the difference between men and boys is really important as well because not many people consider that when dating. I appreciate you taking the time to post this :)
