From Bones to an Abyss

[a Loop poem]

Bones that shake near you

You know we’ve been wrong

Wrong switches in the lights

Lights that sway over my head

Head to the back

Back of my hand still electrified

Electrified, the neon I crave

Crave that I will for endings

Endings so tame gently sway

Sway in the moonlight

Moonlight we danced under

Under the tree I pulled a leaf from your hair

Smooth…like a glaze

Glaze is sweet and cloying

Cloying sweetness is my grace

Grace is the only way

Way in, way out of this abyss

Abyss: black and central

Central I sleep here

Sleep I can no longer
