The Ballad of My Wrist and The Sky

A Poem by Ziggy Jagger SpiderFromMars
"

My first ballad. nothing special, just thought I'd try it out.

"

The Ballad of my Wrist and the Sky

[a ballad]

Refrain:

Oh, do you know this story

Of how I counted my scars

And right after I looked to heaven

I began to count the stars

(I)

There were trees there

In this forest where

I made my place of rest

An obvious thought to my dull head

As I shredded my Sunday Best

(II)

A thought occurred to me

That there was a connection

Between my battered wrist

And a special collection

(Refrain)

(III)

My glitter gash wound

And blanket of gem stones

Left me laying in suit ash

Coring and chilling my bones

(IV)

A parallel of events brought me here

The flecked bits of crimson

Dotting the snow, the ice

Always remember, the blade has risen

(Refrain)

(V)

And then I looked and smiled

Dew drops clung to my skin

I wanted to go deeper

And see what lied further in

(VI)

Morning broke through that lush forest

Black rings encircle the snow

Winding down the narrow path

This was the path of midnight’s glow

(Refrain)
