FARE THEE WELL,  O PHIL!

FARE THEE WELL, O PHIL!

A Poem by The M-Poet
"

Lamentation

"
Sad how the Batsman becomes the batted,
Ball at every angle he coolly batted,
And runs he palm'd in, the ball and said,
'O Mister Hughes1' but 'tis so sad
That a freak accident had to end his life;
Ended twenty-six of his young life!
the Poet cries to the Hughes Family: 'Cry,
But cry not like unbelievers, and why
Should not be your question!' death came early,
'Cry Australia for a death surly!'
