Shadows of Emptiness

I was standing there
Very tired and cold.
No one was there to care
And my heart was sold.

Tears are falling,
In the dark of the night.
A voice was calling
And my mind was on fright.

I took a step or two
The cold followed me.
I didn't know what to do
And the shadow won't let me be.

Strolling down an unknown alley
Sprinting away from the dark.
Trying to find away out of a valley.
But that moment left a mark.

I heard a song
Inside my head.
I knew it's still long.
But my heart laid in my bed.

Tears of emptiness
Hoping to find a way.
Smiles of happiness
Would brighten my day.

As I lay down to rest
May the answers come.
Hoping it would be best,
To find happiness from where I came from
