Never love a poet

Never love a poet

A Poem by M.Kilani

Never love a poet, for poets are insane

They feed on their words, and drown in their pain

Never love a poet, for they try to forget

Even their own joy, so they'll never regret

Never love a poet, for they always tell lies

Not to hide the truth

Not even to bend it

But to shout whenever truth dies

Never love a poet, for poets are agnostic

Hardly they believe, even their own words

Yet write much more, and disbelieve the world

All to fit their hearts, their words are hyponastic

Never love a poet, for poets need time

To stop and smell a rose

To mourn at a stranger's funeral

To envy every mime

Yet never hate a poet, for never they are the same

Never have they worn a mask

To hide all they lack

Never hate the person, never hate the name

Hello M. Kilani,

An excellent poem with a wonderful flow. I must agree with you although I can and will only speak for myself. I have always thought of myself as a bit odd, with the torturing of women and all. However, I think I do it all for the poetry, the ability to take the woman's life then immortalize them in their worst pain.

It's exhilirating.

Regards,

Matthew

Maybe not to everybody, maybe then only to some, but yes we do need time, yes we maybe lie, a rose is beauty even when its dead and some might even prefer to drown in the words their thoughts produce, exactly what it seems even when it doesnt make sense but the utmost parellel to the eye of someone else.

Great write, I love it.

...And THIS is why this is one of my favorites. The poet's quicksilver mind cannot help but see the hidden, can't help but question that which was taken for granted. Agnostic dreamers.

What a beautiful description of those rosy, wavy spectacles the poet wears, and the way that view affects his heart.

Just brilliant.

Truthfully uplifting. Nailed by the honesty found in all poetry.

Thank you, well written.

Wonderful flow, this had me smiling for the first time today~ Contrary to most of the comments, this fits the poet me perfectly

I like the flow , but as many , i don't agree with all that is said about the group as a whole.I am far from agnostic. I find myself to be truthful as well.
