Forgotten Beauty

Forgotten Beauty

A Poem by Firefly

Here,a member of this human race, that which creates,
Destroys and renews.
It stands along a hill top, with those flowers that drench the horizon.
This natural painting, floural forest etches its way into this creatures mind.

It's eyes settle on this image of life, allowing this river of wonder to
Soak in.
It's pockets empty, match box and ciggerette fills it's palm, followed by clambers and a poison that reaches the sky.
Once this poison is gone, the air begins to cleanse, the creature flees back to it's journey again.

The colour fades and the scents deminish and are beaten down by a flourish of orange and red as a wave of horror wipes this canvas of beauty clear.
All the beauty gone, burnt and cindered, the colour is gone,
Embers and ash are resting in it's place.
The flowers are gone, the beauty is gone.

A match is all that remains.
