Rather Would I

Rather Would I

A Poem by Kimberlee

The boy looked at the girl in the red pea coat

With dollops of crème for eyes.

He said with a shudder as they held one another,

“My God, how do you see life?”

She turned with a spin from his embrace,

And spread a sweet grin across her face.

She said, “There is no other,

Rather to death I would smother,

Than I would part from my lover.

For I want nothing more than to be your wife.”
