If I Could Say Goodbye

If I Could Say Goodbye

A Poem by Kimberlee
"

For anyone who has seen disease take a life

"

Though the gods for you lacked taking

Nor the earth beneath you breaking

And in your mind is shaking

“When will I meet the end?”

Through a mother’s hint-full sobbing

As death doth now come crawling

In the hour of the shadows falling

Will I pray for you,

My friend.

As the winds are cold and bitter,

Your treatment will have you wither.

In my mind- a silhouette of an angelic figure,

Will forever remain,

Until we meet again.

I really like this! I love how you created a nice rhythm and used rhyming words. It sounded good to say out loud and to read. It is sing-songy to me. I also can imagine what the narrator is saying and the tone of the poem is consistent throughout.
