male child emancipation

hold me tight

for the past decade my status has been deplorable

inability, incompetence my plight.

promise me life

For the struggle has been real, nothing tangible to hold

living a life full of strife

I live not in the present

my past a mirage, my future an unked blur

the promise of tomorrow absent

 i dream for yesterday

i yearn for a yesterday buttered with tomorrow

the promise of someday

singing joyous like the sparrow
