Wings of ignoranceA Poem by Johan van der WaltAt first glance the message of this poem may appear to be one of sadness, but with further study one may come to realize that it actually conveys a message of hope and redemption.Sorrow is no work of God, nor forlorn path the devil trod, 'twas man that made that very knife; forged from pure malevolence, with which from him was taken life. Life's melodies have turned to stone, no joy from wealth nor golden throne. Salvation locked up till the day; childlike nature fills my cup, so I can drink my sins away. I wander through this life so bleak, my burdened soul has become weak. Yet morrow's sun I will await; glide on wings of ignorance, for light will lift from me this weight.
