The World Beyond Hell

A Story by Nicholas lamb
"

Hikari Matanake is a girl who lives a lonely life. She is an outcast at school and her parents leave her almost every summer to go on business trips. But this time she will live a nightmare.

"
The smell of blood filled the air, I could hear roaring, screeching, and screaming. I opened my eyes to find myself standing in the middle of a battle field. Monsters and other creatures that I can’t even begin to describe were fighting, swords clashed and they were using something that looked like magic or something I wasn’t quite sure. This wasn’t just a battle, its war against different races, this was all I could put together.
It was as if I were not even here, none of these things acknowledged my existence, or so I thought. I see this big shadowy figure staring at me, it started to walk toward me, kill every solider in its path, I turned to run but when I turned around I saw another one headed toward me. Then I realized they were coming from every direction. I couldn’t run anywhere, I closed my eyes, and suddenly I couldn’t hear anything, no swords clinging together, no screaming, no sound at all. I opened my eyes, and they were standing in front of me they towered above me as if they were skyscrapers.
They stared down at me with those glowing bloody red eyes. I could never forget those eyes. Even though they were shadows I could see their horns . They dashed at me to attack me, I squeezed my eyes shut preparing for the worst. However nothing happened. When I opened my eyes it was dark all I could see was a halo of light everywhere else was pitch black. The light took the shape of a body. I tried to scream for help but nothing came out. The light was fading fast. I couldn’t breathe I was feeling dizzy my body felt like it was disappearing into the darkness.

Day 1

I woke up gasping for air. When I caught my breath I no longer smelled blood, instead the smell of eggs and bacon filled the air which relaxed me a bit. I turned and looked at the clock on the night stand on the left side of the bed, it was 8:50. I laid in the bed for a minute. I closed my eyes and tried to collect my thoughts. I could her the birds chirping on the branch of a tree outside my window. After I got up and went into my top drawer to take out a pink short sleeved shirt, some underwear, a pair of sock and a dark blue pair of pants that I had cut into shorts. I closed the drawers and walked to the bathroom to take a bath.
I turned on the water and made sure that it was nice and warm. I got undressed and got in the tub. My name is Hikari Matanake, I am 16 years old. I have been having those dreams periodically thought the past year or so I started having them a little while after my 16th birthday. I really don’t know why, every time I have that dream it seems more real every time I have it. Last night was the worst one I have had yet. That time I actually thought I was going to die, but in the end I woke up in my bed like every other time I had that dream. I'm worried that one day it actually might kill me. I sat there wondering why I keep having those dreams. Does it mean anything, is there something wrong with my brain, or am I just going insane? I don’t know, all I know is I’m having them and there is nothing I can do about it. I haven’t told anyone because they really will think I am crazy. I got out of the tub and dried myself off. After I was done with that and getting dressed I started to brush my hair.
I hate brushing my hair in the morning because it is so hard to get the tangles out, but I had to do it anyway. It didn’t take too long though because I just got my hair cut last week so it isn’t as long as it used to be. Its silver, it comes down to my shoulders. It had only a few curls in it, hardly noticeable. I put on my makeup when I finished my hair but I don’t put any around my eyes because I don’t want them to stand out.My eyes are unique enough, they are a whitish silver like my hair but lighter. That’s where I got my name, Hikari means light, like my hair and like my eyes. I think that my eyes are perfect the way they are, however others don’t think the same, but what do I care. I am the only one in my family and the only one in my school with this color hair and eyes. When I was done I headed down stairs for breakfast. As I walked down the stairs I was trying to figure out what the summer was going to be like.
“Good morning Hikari.” my mom said as I walked into the kitchen.
“Good morning mom,” I replied. “I thought you would’ve slept longer because it was the first day of summer vacation.”
“No, I there’s no way I could sleep in,” I said
“Why is that,” my dad asked as he walked into the kitchen with his cup of coffee in his hand.
“Well it’s just that today seems like a nice day and I wouldn’t want to Miss It.” I said.
“Well your mother and I have something we need to talk about.”
“What is it,” I said curiously.
"Well let's wait until after breakfast," my mom said placing a plate of eggs bacon and said toast in front of me.
So we ate our breakfast without saying a word which was weird because my parents always have something to say. Unless, something is bothering them and that got me worried.
“Well your mother and I are going on to Europe on a business trip” my dad finally said after a whole ten minutes of silence.
“Wait, wait, wait, you’re going to leave me here alone, by myself,” I asked worriedly.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, they do this a lot they leave me behind and leave me alone. Why must they leave me alone? With as many times as they've done this I should be used to it.
“We’re sorry sweetheart, but it came up at the last minute. This is very important to your mother and I don’t worry we left you enough money to last the whole time we’re gone.” He said trying to reinsure me that everything would be fine.
“Wait so you're saying that this thing is important to you what about me, am I not important to you, huh?” I said furiously.“So when are you guys leaving,”
“Tomorrow morning at 9:30, the plain departs at 10:00 so we want to get there early so that way it isn’t as hard to get on the plain,” my mom said.
“I see, how long will you be gone this time?”
“We don’t know possibly all summer,” my dad said with uncertainty.
"How do you not know?" I asked
"Well it's hard to say I guess it all depends.” My mom responded.
“Yes we wish we could take you with us but we can’t,” my mom said. afterward.
“Depends on what,” I said getting a little irritated.
“We don't think you'd understand,” my mom said trying to keep me calm. Which she just made it worse.
“No you’re right! I don’t understand, I don’t understand why you have to leave me alone,” I shouted standing up. “This isn’t fair!” I stormed off to my room angrily and slammed the door.
Ever since I was a little girl they would go away they left me with my aunt. But when I turned 14 they just left me at the house. It was so lonely, there was nothing for me to do. Because of my appearance I didn't have any friends. There are only two people who I can truly call my friends. Mizumi and Minami Takagami. My parents told me that I was going to be their last trip. I guess not, I guess I would be alone again. I didn’t have very many friends to hang around with but it doesn’t really matter all that much to me anymore, but yet I can still feel the emptiness inside when there gone. I laid in my bed all day then I fell asleep.
Everything was black I couldn’t see there was no light, no smell, not ever a sound. I lay there floating in the darkness wait for the time where I would wake up, but I didn't. Time passed by slowly at least that is how it seemed.
Suddenly I heard a voice, “Aria, Aria,” the voice called.
“Who are yo…?”I started to say but was cut off.
“Sh, sh, sh, there’s no time for that just don’t speak just listen. You need to wake up. Every minute you spend here the more the darkness consumes you.” The voice said warningly.
“What are you talking about, and who is Aria?”
The voice didn’t respond. Once again it was silent. So I laid there drifting in this deeper and deeper into this dark place.

Great start.
You have captured the art of drawing the reader in, and making them want to read more.
One thing you might want to consider is indentation. The first line of every paragraph...and especially dialogue (or inner thoughts you want separated) need to be indented. If you ever decide to send your work to an agent or editor, they will expect to see it in that format.
Other than that...great work. You have a nice grasp on mechanics. Keep it up.
