It's okay to be depressed. Be it for a moment or a couple of years, it's okay. Often, people say they aren't ignoring you, because they don't know. Or they don't act because they don't know how to respond. in a way, being a bystander is the same thing as perpetuating the action of social apathy.
But, I think actively working through it be in in poetry, story-writing, art, dance, music, ect. is good. It's rather cathartic isn't it?
Personally, I used to be the same way. keeping it bottled up, smiling, trying to reasure others when I wanted the same way. But, it hurts doesn't. I mean off hand there were studies done that said, if you smiled more it elevates your mood a bit. But, how long will that hold before your bandages wear and the pain bleeds through. actions can keep you temporarily distracted. But, I believe that it's the intellectual and the verbal that actually keeps you sane.
so, even if you feel that this is a little "emo," I say go ahead and work through your feelings through verse. It feels better that way, doesn't it. Or it can when you find the right venue, right?
Good work on the piece, it's brutally honest, and relateable in subject manner.

I'm a normal girl from a fly-over state. Poetry is an outlet for me, along with other things. I have a loving boyfriend, but that's all I got... And I don't even feel comfortable telling him some thin.. more..
