A Poem by Kita Tataki (Emily Conn)

When an angel floats down from heaven
Gracing all those in his path with a rosy light,
Heaven visits earth for one still, breathing moment.
When light floods the sands of time with artificially sweetened memories,
Because you cannot bear the hard, cold truth,
We fool ourselves into love.
A heart explodes
Spewing fountains of pastel colors across the canvas
The colors of dull memories
Ringing the sound of utterances of bittersweet elegies of a meaningless life.
Twisting merciless screams into melodies of beauty
Molding rupturing hearts into new fashions of grace,
The rosy light is none but the wisps of the shadows
We fool ourselves into love
And we fool ourselves into life.
