Memories

They are the remnants of ones mind. A personal library of thoughts we cling to. This poem resonated it's feelings personified.

Stationary in your mind, waiting to be freed

Docked in the darkness, hoping you will heed

You return to me when you are imbalanced

Seeking comfort and necessary deliverance

I'm nothing more than an empty hollow reason

You rarely visit come any following season

I have no importance in your life

I'm just a fuel on low days for you to thrive

Admit it, I do bring you Joy and a smile

But, you say I am nothing worthwhile

I know, I remind sometimes of  some misfortune

You do shut me so, away harshly, to be forgotten

I have no choice in all of this matter

Comfort, knowing you do need me like no other

Gratitude, I must live that you return to me

Because, a part of you, I was, I am and always will be

And you will always be enough ..no matter the others actions that does not depict who you are. Memories are moments in time that help form us into who we are, lessons learnt and through these we hopefully grow.
