Moving on

When you lose that special someone and life's just not the same.

Reading through these lines

the words smudged with tears.

Can't make myself move on,

Words confirming my worst fears

Walking away,

was only the very start

crying to myself

now comes the hardest part

Blocking out the memories,

letting you go,

wanting to call you,

but telling myself no

Not having you here

Not hearing your voice

Thinking why...

I have to make this choice

Forgetting all the hopes

and hating all the dreams

Making it look like I've forgotten

Just to them, it seems.

Deleting all our songs  

but listening one last time

Hanging on each word

making all the hurt rhyme

Wanting to go back

Wanting the way it used to be

Know it will never

No more you and me

It hurts so badly

I don't know what to say

Without you there is nothing

Just the next day.

I don't have any indication as to your age, but this poem speaks of young love to me. I can sense to pain and regret; but most of all, at the end, I see the hope in "the next day." The next day is a new beginning; and if this poem is eight years old, you've had many new days since. I hope each one has brought you joy.

I did write this when I was a considerable amount younger, and yes life has changed a lot since then. I was actually in high school if that makes sense. lol. I am new to writing and getting back into after a long break :) so there will be more to come!
