RIDER OF THE RODEO

 

he's a rider of the rodeo

who came to town one day

he's five foot four don't you know

and thirty one yesterday

 

he's always been a roader

if not in fact then in mind

he never tried to settle down

he never took the time

 

he tried to be a hero

for the lady of his life

but all he's got to show for it

is a leg that don't work right

 

he was fighting for his pride

so was the bronc that he did ride

he did what he had to do 

Lady Luck never show'd that night

that ranch will have to wait

you could not be what you want to be
