They Think Me Insane

They Think Me Insane

A Poem by Kathrine Rethorn
"

Something I tried to put together, strayed from the original path.

"
They Think Me Insane.

My voice is loud.
Mind wrecked with sound.
I refuse to be bound.
Chained down like
A ravage hungry lion.

But chains still choke me
holding me keeping
me from freedom. Like
a bird in its cage.

Eventually,
They threw me
 in the lake with starving,
bloodthirsty piranhas.
My tongue cut out
of my mouth. Before
Tossing me to the ice...
freezing water, head first
struggling to swallow
gushing blood.

As the needles
Break my flesh I learn,
They don't like it
when you speak out of line.
Out of turn. Raising
Questions that can’t
Be answered.

These chains of
resentment, jealousy
and standards are
dragging me to the
bottom faster than a
sinking anchor.

Author's Note

Kathrine Rethorn
I don't really try for grammar in my poems, I put things where I want you to pause for sound.

'Mind wrecked with sound.
I refuse to be bound."

Break my flesh I learn,"
