Black and White

Black and White

A Poem by Kringe

When we met my black turned to white. My hate turned to love. The darkness of my soul turned to light for you. The white is so beautiful, as are you. You chased away the darkness for me, held me when it tried to return, and kissed my wounds to prevent bleeding. The light became lighter, the sun became brighter, my heart beat a perfect rhythm for your light. Then the darkness peaked over the ridge, the sun began to set. Your touch became hesitant, your kisses became small, you light became dull. As the darkness began to spread again, you left. You shared your light with another, and watched as the blackness ate my soul...

This poem relies too heavily on the ready-made abstraction of the words darkness, light, black, white, soul and love. I dare you to convey the same feeling but without any of these words.

I like this. Instead of just a paragraph, make each sentence a new line.
