lushly on the bayou

lushly on the bayou

A Poem by Christie Moses

your dark sails skim my cheek

fluttering with every beat

like destiny spools unwinding

into the shimmering lakes at night

capturing a wayward wind

great wide sails semi spoken

to taste that wild breath

caught tangled in my hair

sweet as the motion of kiss

exhaling to the heat of a desert

 drifter

stealing my cells and the shadows

in my soul

brush my lip with your eyes

taste

the avenues of my burning descent

speak low in murmurs of midnight

two a.m.

the way you speak of rain

like its essence can be explained

the way you smile

like the sun itself consumed your skin

something in the way you move

calls to me

calls so deeply to me

as your dark sails skim my cheek

and my heart flutters like feathers

in your palm

your thoughts express the depth of reaching into the very essence of touch and the mind holding those very sensual and carressing senses of love, caught between the views of Nature and those sails of midnight...a very thought provoking poem Christie...exceptional...

I felt as if I had stepped into a deep, dark moment.. full of life history and the richest imagery, alive in flutterings.. Just love the dance of sensual words.

This one has Heat... a man chases a woman - 'til she turns and 'catches' him...

Now that was uninhibited love at it's finest... very romantic and so delightfully sensual.

I thought this was a beautiful touching piece, with just the right anount of sensuality to spin a little heat. Sounded of a love of a far one you can just barely touch. I love the last stanza it just seems to pull the flow of the words written here so perfectly together:
something in the way you move
calls to me
calls so deeply to me
as your dark sails skim my cheek
and my heart flutters like feathers
in your palm
I have felt this call and you reminded me of it. Thank you for this beautiful writing. It was a pleasure to read it.

Wow, you create a scene that I can see, smell and feel ... in my mind. Such a sensual and delicate feel to it all. Fantastic writing!
